Rexroth showcases digital future at PPMA

01 October 2018

Bosch Rexroth recently showcased an array of leading technology to enable the processing and packaging industry to transition into the Industry 4.0 arena, at the PPMA 2018 event at the NEC Birmingham between 25-27 September.

Amongst the solutions which Rexroth’s team showcased were: Active Assist, the all-in-one interactive solution which precisely guides workers on the production line to deliver improved quality and productivity levels; and VariFlow Plus, a high-performance conveyor system designed specifically for the food and packaging industries. Demonstrating the possibilities of a connected factory, Active Cockpit was also on display, making it simple to collect, process and visualise real time data.

As well as seeing Industry 4.0 solutions in action, Rexroth’s team was on hand to give advice to manufacturers within the industry on implementing digital solutions in their own facilities.

Andrew Minturn, Business Development and Strategic Product Manager at Rexroth, said: “This year’s PPMA was an excellent event, and the perfect platform for us to showcase the fantastic digital solutions available to manufacturers in the food and processing industries right now. Once adopted, these solutions help manufacturers to make the most of every asset in their facility, helping them to operate more efficiently and productively, essentially improving their competitiveness in the marketplace.

“Industry 4.0 has begun to be adopted by manufacturers in all industries over recent years, and at Rexroth, we’ve been at the forefront to support businesses implement a digital approach in a manageable way for them. That means making small changes which will offer the most value, just like installing a new conveyor system which can sit within a connected factory to deliver results from the moment of installation.”
