SolutionsPT roadshows will demonstrate benefits of industrial digitalisation

05 November 2018

SolutionsPT is hosting three Digitalise Roadshows exploring the latest industrial technology trends and how to leverage them for a competitive edge.

The events will also explore best practice for staying protected against the rising cyber security threat. SolutionsPT will introduce its partnership with OT cyber security specialists, Claroty, and explain how its anomaly detection solution can help to give complete visibility of assets, to provide extreme threat detection and vulnerability monitoring.

The events in Manchester (November 20), Glasgow (November 22) and Ascot (November 28) will discuss the digital modelling of physical assets through System Platform 2017, which is fundamental to the operational element of the digital twin. They will showcase a recent project by the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), which has been using Wonderware’s OMI client software to support a Smart Manufacturing Accelerator initiative.

SolutionsPT specialists will be joined by other industry partners and clients to share the real-life challenges they faced and the benefits they gained from implementing innovative IT solutions.

This will include a look at the experiences of renewable energy company, Solo Energy, which has recently implemented and begun operating System Platform 2017 in a secure cloud environment. Attendees will discover how Solo Energy is utilising System Platform in the cloud to collect, store, visualise and analyse energy data, with zero IT infrastructure, and present that information back to their customers in a simple user-friendly interface.

Attendees will also be able to see some of these latest technology solutions in action during lunchtime demonstrations.

The roadshows will start by exploring current technology trends and how these are forging stronger connections between people, processes and technology, creating new opportunities across the manufacturing industry.

SolutionsPT specialists will then lead other sessions, incorporating real-life examples and case studies, across:

• Legacy modernisation – How keeping systems up to date will help to achieve improved performance, enhanced security and long-term access to the latest evolving technology to maintain a competitive edge.
• Digitally modelling operational assets – A digital twin provides invaluable insight into a system, plant, real world asset or entity by creating a complete digital representation of it. The digital asset is fundamental to the operational element of the digital twin. This session will take a detailed look at how, by digitally modelling operational assets, manufacturers can see beyond standard visualisation across the areas of monitoring and control, asset performance and more.
• Cloud Technology – In addition to taking a look at the recent experience of Solo Energy, the session will help attendees understand how they can gain a greater insight into their assets’ capabilities and machine health using predictive analytics, exploring the flexibility and benefits of hosting data analytics solution on premise, in the cloud or with a hybrid approach.
• Implementing secure environments – Demonstrating the importance of having a secure architectural foundation for industrial control networks. SolutionsPT will provide guidance on best practice to reduce cyber security risks by maintaining a secure environment.
• Monitoring and maintaining those secure environments – Introducing SolutionsPT’s partnership with OT cyber security specialists, Claroty, and exploring why effective disaster resilience planning should be the cornerstone of any cyber security strategy.

The Digitalise Roadshows will run from 9am to 3pm. The event is free, but delegates must register in advance at https://solutionspt.com/events-webinars/digitalise-roadshow/.
