You’re invited to the EPLAN Engineering Configuration forum

EPLAN will be hosting the 7th annual EPLAN Engineering Configuration Forum (EEC) from 23 to 25 September 2019 in Cologne, Germany.
This international event is aimed at companies wishing to exchange information and find out more about connecting configuration and automated engineering. Keynote speakers will include representatives from Danfoss Drives, FEAG Sangerhausen, Geiss AG, Lenze SE and Rockwell Automation Inc., as well as other European business leaders.
EPLAN Managing Director Haluk Menderes will provide an overview of the company strategy, whilst Managing Director Dr Harald Schrenk of EPLAN affiliate Cideon will take participants on a journey into the world of virtual and augmented reality. Topics such as electrical, fluid power and control cabinet engineering relating to machine and switchgear construction will share centre stage.
Practically oriented presentations from well-known customers will allow participants to engage with industry-specific applications, such as the configuration of medium-voltage switchgear systems as presented by Heiko Koschmieder, Managing Director of FEAG Sangerhausen GmbH. Completely automated manufacturing of volume produced machines in batch size one is a topic that Klaus Peter Welsch, CIO at Geiss AG will be introducing while Lars Ferichs, Director Configuration and Processes at Danfoss Group IT in Denmark, will be describing how SAP LO-VC forms the starting point of the configuration process.
Visions, ideas and concepts focusing on the global 4.0 context, alongside striking examples that include the digital twin and cloud technologies will also be discussed. A discussion on automated machine manufacturing in switchgear engineering and the digital twin – with an integrated digital database as its central foundation – will be of great interest to many of those attending.
Automated engineering has arrived as part of the digital transformation and seamless integration can be achieved both horizontally and vertically. This can also be experienced in person on a visit to Haiger, Germany: international participants additionally can visit the Rittal Innovation Centre as well as the new, highly automated AX Production Facility and get an up-close view of Industry 4.0 production in action.
