Eplan announced as Event Partner for Engineering Skills Conference 2025
19 August 2025
Eplan, providers of ECAD software and service solutions in the fields of electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering, has been announced as the official Event Partner for the Next Gen Makers Engineering Skills Conference 2025.
The Engineering Skills Conference - run by Next Gen Makers – is a national event to be held on 30th October 2025, sharing insight and best practice regarding future proofing the UK engineering workforce, and featuring a broad range of keynote speakers and panel discussions.
The half-day 2025 Engineering Skills Conference is free to attend, and will be held at MTC Training, Ansty Park, Coventry between 9:30am and 2:30pm.
The event will see early careers insight and best practice sharing, as well as networking for around 200 delegates.
Founded in 1984 and owned by the international Friedhelm Loh Group, Eplan is now one of the world’s leading design software solutions, with more than 50,000 customers, supported by local teams based in more than 50 countries.
Eplan is committed to encouraging and supporting new entrants into the engineering profession, offering its software free of charge to higher education colleges and universities to help support apprenticeship training.
The only cost to the college is a small annual charge for access to both the expert team on the Eplan helpdesk, access to the Eplan Data Portal, and for annual software updates.
An example of this is Eplan’s work with Coleg Cambria and LCA Group, with the college using Eplan in its courses, and LCA Group financially supporting the annual charge for students to gain access to Eplan support, which includes software updates and helpdesk facilities, for five years.
Eplan also provides lesson plan materials to ensure that students gain the essential skills and understanding to effectively operate the software, in addition to the comprehensive training provided to the course lecturer.
Eplan Country Director Ken Christie will be delivering a keynote speech at the Engineering Skills Conference, expanding on their important work in this area.
In addition to facilitating networking between those with apprenticeship and early careers responsibilities in UK engineering and manufacturing, it will also feature a range of keynote speakers and panel discussions, including:
• Changing perceptions & attracting talent
• Employer branding for the next generation
• An AI Approach to Skills Based Talent Management
• Leveraging Diversity and Inclusion to solve skills challenges
• Apprentice Panel Discussion – How to create a great Apprentice Experience
• Celebrating Achievements for Businesses and Apprentices
