NeoDyne energises UK Grid with 50MW battery storage project in partnership with Schneider Electric
02 September 2025
NeoDyne has successfully delivered a major milestone in the UK’s renewable energy journey with the completion of the Botley Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Hampshire.
In collaboration with Schneider Electric, NeoDyne provided the electrical design and SCADA monitoring system for the 50MW facility, which will supply stable, renewable electricity to the National Grid and support the UK’s net zero ambitions.
The Botley BESS project, led by Suir Engineering, showcases the power of strategic partnerships and advanced technology. Schneider Electric’s cutting-edge solutions –including eTAP software for digital twin modelling and the Modicon M580 PLC – enabled NeoDyne to implement real-time operational visibility, fault diagnostics, and secure data logging across all major subsystems. The Botley station will provide stable electricity generated from renewable sources to the National Grid, contributing to the government-mandated goal of net zero by 2050.
“Delivering the Botley BESS project is a testament to our team’s technical strength and commitment to future-proofing industry,” said Matt Close, Head of UK Operations at NeoDyne. “We’re proud to play a role in advancing clean energy infrastructure in the UK.”
NeoDyne’s collaboration with Schneider Electric dates back to 2020, when its Ireland division became a Certified Alliance Integration Partner. Since expanding into the UK, NeoDyne has continued to grow its footprint, with a new office recently opened in Richmond, Virginia, USA – marking the next chapter in its global partnership with Schneider Electric.
“Our Alliance SI Partner Program is designed to empower system integrators like NeoDyne to deliver smarter, more sustainable industrial automation solutions,” said Adrian Bailey, Digital Plant and Automation Key Account Manager at Schneider Electric. “NeoDyne’s expertise across sectors like life sciences, food and beverage, water, and energy makes them a valuable partner in driving digital transformation.”
NeoDyne brings a uniquely comprehensive offering to industrial automation projects across the UK and Ireland, backed by top-tier certifications from both AVEVA and Schneider Electric. In Ireland, NeoDyne is an AVEVA Endorsed Partner in System Platform and PI, while in the UK, it holds the distinction of being the only AVEVA Endorsed In-Touch & System Platform Partner. This elite status is further strengthened by NeoDyne’s Schneider Electric Alliance Program certifications in Control Systems and PLC Modernisation, enabling the company to deliver robust, scalable solutions tailored to diverse industry needs.
With offices in Chesterfield, Cork, Dublin, Galway, and Waterford, NeoDyne is strategically positioned to support complex system integration projects across both regions. Notably, it is the only Schneider Electric Alliance SI Partner to also hold AVEVA Endorsed Partner status in In-Touch & System Platform – underscoring its deep technical expertise and commitment to delivering future-ready automation solutions.
NeoDyne is listed among Schneider Electric’s trusted UK&I partners on its global partner locator – a resource for finding certified suppliers with the technical know-how to deliver successful industrial automation projects.
